Home Remedies For Vaginal Yeast Infection

Vaginal yeast infection is a common problem faced by women all over the world. Yeast or candida fungus is a tiny organism that resides on human body the problem arises only when number of these organisms' increases out of control. In body the yeast levels are kept low naturally due to the acidity in the vagina.

But during menstruation period or during pregnancy the acidity levels in vagina decreases, this leads to vaginal yeast infections. Diabetes and birth control pills can also be the reasons behind the decrease in the acidity levels in the vagina. Having vaginal yeast infection is very unhealthy plus it is very annoying too. There are various home remedies for vaginal yeast infection that you can try to get relief form it.

What precautions you can take to avoid getting vaginal yeast infections?

  • Don't wear tight fitting undergarments, as they are discomfort able and also not good for skin. Wearing loose cotton undergarments will allow better air circulation into vagina and also soak the sweat fast.
  • It is not good to wear wet undergarments for long time. Dry the vaginal area properly before putting undergarments.
  • It is better if you will not use deodorants, perfumes, bubble bath and colored toilet papers in vaginal area.
  • Don't use sanitary pads, which has deodorant in them. This can also result in skin irritation.
  • Always wipe from front to back, after making use of the toilet.
  • It is not good to wear tight fitting jeans, as it will not allow air circulation in vaginal area.
  • Try to avoid wearing undergarments that are made from synthetic materials.

If you will take above precautions then there is no chance that you will get vaginal yeast infections but in case you get it, then try the following home remedies for vaginal yeast infection .

Home remedies for Vaginal Yeast Infection :

  1. Dip a tampon in yogurt and insert it in your vagina. Do this two times in a day. You can safely do this remedy till the time you feel that your infection has completely gone.
  2. Vitamin C is also very good to avoid vaginal yeast infections. Hence include various fruits and fruit juices in your diet.
  3. Pour few drops of tea tree oil on a tampon and insert it in your vagina; this will help to get rid from the infection pretty soon.
  4. Before going to sleep in the night, insert one or two boric acid capsules in your vagina.
  5. Make a solution for douching by mixing one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar and one clove of garlic in two cups of water.
  6. Make a solution with adding one tablespoon of potassium sorbate in one cup of water and dip a tampon in it. Insert the tampon in your vagina.
  7. Make garlic paste and apply it over the skin around the vagina. You will feel the burning sensation but bear it for some time. This remedy is very effective over vaginal yeast infections.
  8. Mix one cup of vinegar in a bath tub filled with warm water. Sit in the solution for twenty minutes and then dry vaginal area with absorbent paper.

Vinegar
Vinegar is renowned for its antibacterial and antifungal properties. Fill a bathtub with warm water mixed with 1 cup of vinegar. Soak in this bath solution for about 20 minutes. Dry the vaginal area thoroughly using super absorbent paper. Any vinegar will do, but the best results have been found using apple cider vinegar.

Precautions to Avoid Yeast Infection
Prevention is better than cure. Taking these precautions will ensure that you do not suffer from vaginal yeast infection.
